The DRA Team
Theresa has been involved in archaeology since 1978, and has a BA (Hons.) degree in Archaeology from Southampton University, a Masters degree from Oxford University in Ethnology and Museum Ethnography, and a PhD in Archaeology from Southampton University which focused on medieval sculpture. She worked for the Department of Archaeology at Southampton University as a teaching assistant for 3 years, has worked as a volunteer for Cornwall Archaeology Unit, and Exeter Cathedral, and assisted in the green lanes restoration project with South Devon AONB. Theresa is currently working towards the Diploma/MSc in the Conservation of Historic Gardens and Cultural Landscapes at Bath University, in addition to her freelance work specialising in buildings archaeological research.
THERESA OAKLEY
ABIGAIL GRAY
Abigail graduated from the University of Exeter in 2008 with a BA (Hons) degree in Archaeology and went onto do a Masters degree in Landscape Archaeology. She joined our team of Consultant Archaeologists in January 2009 and has recently taken over the running of the archive. Abi has been an active volunteer in the heritage sector for the last ten years having started at the Cookworthy Museum in Kingsbridge. She has undertaken community work for X –Arch and for the last five years has worked as part of the Mount Folly Enclosures Project; she is also the administrator for The Devon Museums Group. Since 2009, Abi has been working towards her PhD which is focusalso sing on the significance of  which rfocusses on  sites of the Neolithic to medieval periods in South West England.


Diana studied History of Art at the University of Manchester and went on to specialize in museum work completing a PG curatorial qualification. She has worked as a researcher for Plymouth Dome and Plymouth Museum and Art Gallery and has done a number of freelance projects for the National Trust. Diana produced the exhibition for our launch in March 2007 and has since worked to create many other displays in our library and our downstairs gallery. As the DRA Keeper of Archives, Diana looks after our growing collection of books and journals and will be happy to respond to any research enquiries. She hopes that the increased interest in the DRA will encourage visitors and enjoys forging links with societies and communities interested in the rural heritage of Devon.
